Doch bevor die Rebellen den Planeten wieder verlassen können, erhält Luke eine bedrohliche Nachricht des ehemaligen imperialen Kommanders Rezi Soresh. Dieser sinnt nach wie vor auf Rache an Skywalker, vor allem jetzt, da sein Attentäter X-7 so kläglich scheiterte. Soresh droht damit, ein Schiff mit unschuldigen Reisenden zu zerstören, falls Luke sich ihm nicht sofort ausliefert. Der junge Jedi hat keine andere Wahl, als auf Soreshs Bedingungen einzugehen, auch wenn das bedeutet, dass er geradewegs in dessen heimtückische Falle läuft.
